Because apparently we can't have a website anymore without a blog
The blah-blah-blog
Actually, I post a lot of information related to climate change almost daily elsewhere.
But, as time permits, I'm going to put the esoterica I encounter related to climate change
here rather than trying to update the various pages. So this will be reverse in chronological rather
than logically organized within the structure of the rest of this website. Please don't
rely on this as a consistent and current source for climate change information updates.
Sadly, we cannot rely on our corporate-controlled mass media for good information on this.
I update this site on my own time, and making a living has to take priority.

Alberta petrochemical credit program survives cuts (National Observer)
Alberta budget slashes health care, education, and civil service, but the bulk of fossil fuel subsidies emerge unscathed, including the
government's disinformation 'war room' for oil industry propaganda. The fossil fuel subdidies actually cut were those related to
creating jobs around doing more upgrading of the low quality bitumen product within the province.
PG&E’s rolling blackouts probably don’t eliminate fire risk, and they actually could make responding to fires harder.
What they largely do is shift responsibility away from the company.

State Of Emergency: Vital Oil Pipeline Shuttered By Snow Storms
Irony Alert! A major winter storm - which arrived a couple of months early, likely due to weather volatility related to
climate change caused by rising greenhouse gas emisisons - took out the electrical grid in much of southern Manitoba,
which in turn stopped the pumping stations along the oil pipeline.

A Draconian Crackdown Looms Over Natural Gas (Oilprice.com)
'It’s notable that the reference to gas becoming the new coal has been uttered by several industry executives in the past few weeks.
“The industry really is at a critical juncture,” Woodside Petroleum CEO Peter Coleman said at a recent conference in Houston.
“We run the risk of being demonized like that other fossil fuel out there called coal.”'

Scientists Create a Material That Captures CO2 And Turns It Into Organic Matter (Science Alert)
You know, kind of like what a plant does. Without a lab or factory. Making stuff you can use for
packaging (like paper or cardboard or batting) or clothing (like cotton or hemp or linen or canvas ...)

Reliable, affordable: The economic case for scaling up clean energy portfolios (Pembina Institute)
Paired with battery storage and energy efficiency, electricity from solar and wind is now capable of generating electricity
with the same reliability and lower cost than gas plants, even in Alberta where natural gas is relatively inexpensive.
